Description
Specimen is a kidney. Situated in the upper pole there is a semi-spherical tumour mass 7 cm in
diameter. This is pale and has a solid consistency. Focal areas of tumour necrosis are seen towards
the upper pole. Two small simple cortical cysts are present in the middle portion of the kidney.
Histologically the tumour was found to be a Wilms' tumour with predominance of the epithelial
component.
